Welcome From The President

Howdy!

Thank you for checking out the EWGA Aggieland, TX Chapter. We are new Chapter joining over 100 other Chapters in cities across the United States as well as several internationally. Currently, our Chapter membership is sitting at 21 members and we would like to have at least 50 by the end of 2016.

As a new Chapter, we are working hard to schedule events and establish opportunities for golfers of all levels. Whether you are an experienced golfer or are interested in learning and have never played – this is your opportunity to get involved, meet more women and have more fun!

Things to look forward to:

  • New golfer clinics
  • Weekly 9 hole and 18 hole playing opportunities
  • Competitive playing opportunities at the Chapter, Regional and National level
  • Yearly National EWGA Conference
  • Social Events
  • Business Networking
  • And so much more!

I invite you to join us as we embark on creating an opportunity for women in our community to promote women’s golf and make a lasting impact.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at EWGAAggieland@gmail.com with any questions you may have.

Gig ’em and happy golfing,

Chanee Carlson, President

Pace of Play: Tips To Keep Moving

Being a short hitter isn’t the cause of slow play, being inaccurate however does add time to the round. What you do – or fail to do – between shots sets the pace of play, not the number of strokes you take.

Quick Tips

  • Be prepared before you get to the first tee.
  • 20 Second Rule- Don't take more than 20 seconds to hit your ball.
  • 5 Minute Rule- Spend a max of 5 min. searching for ball before declared lost.
  • Play "ready" golf.
  • Plan your shot before you get to your ball.
  • If not in competition, pick up ball after maximum allowed strokes.

Handicap Information

The purpose of the USGA Handicap System is to make the game of golf more enjoyable by enabling players of differing abilities to compete on an equitable basis.

Having a handicap index allows golfers to participate in more events (those that require a handicap index), have a measurable means of tracking improvement, and allows score adjustments to even the playing field when playing with golfers of different skill levels.
